Ioannis Vlachos, PhD Candidate - Lawyer

 

Ioannis Ath. Vlachos was born in 1979 in New York. He holds a degree in Law from the School of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies (Finance & Accounting) of the University of Sheffield. He earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Criminal Law & Criminology from the School of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Political Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and is a PhD candidate in the same Faculty (thesis topic: “Fraud against the interests of the EC”).

Postgraduate fellow of the Department of Criminal Law & Criminology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Law (2008-2010), assigned with assisting the tutorship of Substantive and Procedural Criminal Law for grecophones and substantive Criminal Law for Erasmus students (tutorship in English).

From 2002 until 2011, he taught in private and public institutes of vocational training modules relevant to Criminal, Civil, Labor and Commercial Law. During the academic year 2006-2007, he was employed as Specialized Teaching Staff (Presidential Decree 407) in the Faculty of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, assigned with tutorship of the module “Medical Law”.

He works as a litigation attorney-at-law as of 2004, mostly handling criminal cases. He is also a member of the legal aid team of K.E.TH.E.A. – Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals.

He speaks English (native speaker), Italian (very well) and French (adequately).
